Seven Tricks to Remembering Names:
1. Be Interested - too often we are too busy or actually uninterested. Make it a point to want to learn student's names.
2. Verify - When they say their name say it back to them - this way you know you got it right and you've repeated it.
3. Picture the name written across their forhead - Visualization is everything!
4. Imagine (or actually) writing the name down - neural linguistic experts say that when your muscles work to write it you are putting a mark in your memory.
5. Relate the Name - Associate the name with a familiar image or person. For instance, if there name is Matt - think of a famous Matt you know - Matt Dillon, Matt LeBlanc, Etc..
6. Use it Frequently - Try to use their name three or four times the first time you meet them - This one really works!
7. Record the name in a new contacts file -
