Christians Practicing Recovery:

This is a recovery group for those who have family members with addictions or for those who have been affected by addictions themselves.

Come be with others who understand your situation and have experienced recovery themselves.  You are not alone in your crisis.  Think of it as CPR for your emotions and for your spiritual life.

This is a 12-step group patterned after successful AA and Al-Anon groups.  The difference is that this group specifically looks to the God in the Bible for direction and love.  The group will study a step one week and discuss an issue (like self-esteem, trust, boundaries, etc.) the next.

Meetings are open to everyone and will be held every Tuesday night from 7pm-8:30pm at First Christian Church in Newbury Park and they include refreshments and prayer. The church is located at 801 Knollwood Dr. near the intersection of Lynn Rd and Reino Rd., and is the second church from the corner behind the fire station. Exit the 101 Fwy at Wendy Dr. and go south on Wendy to Lynn Rd, turn right on Lynn (west several blocks).  The church is on the right accessed off Knollwood Dr. or Reino Rd. Those coming from Westlake area can exit on Lynn Rd., turn left and stay on Lynn passing Wendy Dr. to access the church. First Christian Church of Newbury Park has an upbeat service at 5pm Saturday night (called “Alive at Five”), and Sunday services at 8:00 & 10:30 am.
