MISSION

Helping people find and follow Jesus

VISION

We accomplish our mission by organizing all our services, events, and activities around these three values. We believe a healthy balance of these elements will foster an abundant life of faith for you and all those around you.

  • ENCOUNTER GOD

We believe that the God who created the universe is not distant but knowable. Even more, we believe God is personal and He wants to engage you in an active, ongoing relationship. It's our desire as a church to help you become more attuned to His presence and His voice on a daily basis and to help guide you to follow His leading. Though God is trying to speak to us at all times, the noise of the world has made it difficult to hear Him. So we make it our mission to facilitate an environment every Sunday where we actively seek out and soak in the presence of God through song and the Word. And when we genuinely encounter God, our natural response is to live lives that glorify Him. This is what we call, "worship."

  • EXPERIENCE COMMUNITY

We have been created for a deep relationship with God and with others. It's essential to our faith journeys to be connected with others along the same road, no matter their mileage. We all need the support of others to carry us through life's ups and downs. Since this is a place we can call "home," we see ourselves as family, and as a family, we're in this together. We believe that everyone has something to give and something to receive, and as we do both together, we build community!

  • EXTEND COMPASSION

It's not enough to love only those who love us in return, we must strive to extend God's compassion beyond our immediate church family. There's a reason why Jesus said our faith lives boil down to two simple principles--love God and love others. If we've truly encountered God's love and grace in our lives we'll be compelled to share that same love and grace to others. Whether caring for a neighbor or building an orphanage in another country, our mission goes beyond our four walls. And the beautiful mystery of faith is, by loving the least of these, we ourselves encounter God afresh!

WHAT WE BELIEVE

GOD

There is only one God, and he exists eternally as The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and present everywhere. He is completely loving and completely just. He is the creator, sustainer and definer of all things. God wants to have a personal relationship with every person.

Genesis 1:1; John 10:30; 2 Corinthians 13:14

JESUS CHRIST

The only son of God, Jesus became man through the miracle of a virgin birth. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, taught God’s truth, was crucified, died and was buried. He was brought back to life, and was seen and recognized by many people. He returned to heaven to prepare a place for all people who trust in Him. He will return to earth to gather His followers and judge those who do not have a relationship with Him.

Matthew 1:18-25; John 3:16; Acts 2:22-24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-5; 1 John 4:7-10

HOLY SPIRIT

One with God and Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit lives within and empowers all followers of Christ. The Holy Spirit teaches and guides us in God’s truth and informs us when we sin. The Holy Spirit develops Christ’s character in us and helps us live in relationship with God and with other people. The Holy Spirit also provides each of us with special abilities that help us serve others, build His church and advance His Kingdom.

Galatians 5:22-23; Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11, 6:19; John 16:5-15; Acts 2:38

THE BIBLE

The Bible is the Word of God and is written revelation from Him. It was written by people who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. God has guided the preservation and translation of the Bible so that, even today, we can trust what it says. The Bible is our only written revelation of God, and everything must be measured against its authority.

Timothy 3:14-17, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Peter 1:21

HUMANITY

All people have been created by and in the image of God, and have inherent value. However, while we were all created to have a relationship with God, every one of us has sinned and broken that relationship. That is why we need a savior.

Genesis 1:27, Romans 3:23

SALVATION

After this life, every person will live forever. Where we spend our eternity will depend on our relationship with God. As humans, we are incapable of saving ourselves, and we need a savior. Jesus Christ is that savior, and He died to pay the price our sin warranted. Because of His love for us, God extends the gift of salvation to every person. Each person is free to accept or reject His gift. We accept God’s gift by trusting in Jesus Christ. This trust is demonstrated when we:

  • Believe:   that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that He died on the cross and was resurrected
  • Repent:   recognize our sin, change direction, and conform to God’s will
  • Confess:   proclaim our allegiance to Jesus.
  • Get Baptized:   Jesus was baptized as a demonstration for us, and he commanded that we be baptized to show our obedience to Him.

            John 3:16, 14:6; Romans 5:8, 6:23, 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9

THE CHURCH

The church is not a building or an organization. The church is the entire community of people who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. Our local church is a gathering where believers collectively encounter God, build community and extend God’s compassion to others. Each believer has been given special gifts they can use to help fulfill God’s purpose, which is to reach all people with the message of His love and grace. We believe that the local church is the hope of the world.

Ephesians 4:11-13, Matthew 28:18-20

CHURCH MEMBERSHIP

Although our church welcomes everyone to our services and activities, we believe that church membership can only be offered to people who are followers of Jesus Christ and who have been baptized. Because Jesus demonstrated baptism by being completely immersed in water, we ask that our members be baptized in the same way. We also ask that members commit themselves to our church through faithful attendance, giving, and service.
