Hope for the Journey is a simulcast conference designed to equip parents with the unique tools needed to raise their adopted children. Whether you adopted your child from birth or they'd spent years in the foster system, every adopted child has unique needs related to the trauma of separation they've experienced. Learning to properly connect with your child is vital to their growth and your bond. We've seen firsthand how effective these methods can be when implemented in the home. We pray this conference blesses you and enriches your parenting journey!

WHAT IS HOPE FOR THE JOURNEY?

If you are a foster or adoptive family, educator, or person(s) that work with children, this conference is for you. Hope for the Journey equips and supports those currently fostering or who have adopted or those thinking about foster care or adoption. Anyone working with kids, especially kids that come from hard places, will benefit from this proven model of helping children grow and thrive.

Even if you are just considering foster or adoption, this conference will educate and inform you on the special journey you are about to embark on.

Children navigating the journey of adoption and foster care often carry unique needs. The Hope for the Journey Conference is our gateway to a wealth of knowledge, understanding, and practical tools to help support children, parents, educators and those who work with children in our community.

The heart of the conference focuses on TBRI, Developed by Drs. Karyn Purvis and David Cross from the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development (KPICD) at TCU. TBRI, (Trust-Based Relational Intervention), is a care model designed to help meet relational and developmental needs of children and youth impacted by trauma. TBRI considers the whole child—his or her brain, biology, behavior, body, and beliefs—and provides parents and caregivers with practical tools and insight to help their child(ren) reach his or her highest potential. And, perhaps most integral, at TBRI’s core is connection—the truth that connection builds trust, and trust builds healthy relationships.
