When Jesus said to love our neighbors, we take that literally. We want to be a church that regularly blesses those right next to us. Below are some ways we do just that!
LOCAL MISSIONS

5 LOAVES FOOD PANTRY | Newbury Park, CA
Every Friday and Saturday morning, volunteers from our church drive to Albertson's and Trader Joe's markets to pick up generous donations of food and bring them back to our church kitchen. Back at church, other volunteers are getting the kitchen ready, and people from the community begin to line up. Soon the drivers are back, and volunteers set out the bounty of fresh vegetables, bread, milk, cheese and other healthful food. Yes, there are some sweets, too. We also offer a variety of non-perishable canned goods and staples in another room.
Soon it's 9 am, and volunteers and community members join hands for a few moments of prayer. Then, for the next hour, the bounty is shared.
If you could use a little help feeding yourself or your family, we invite you to visit our food pantry. Enter our parking lot from Reino Road, and you will see our Family Life Center at the end of the lot. Our food pantry is located on the 1st floor. If you have any plastic or paper bags, bring them with you – we sometimes run out.
Contact Catherine James for any additional information needed or the church office.

SERVE DAY | Newbury Park, CA
At least once a year on a Sunday morning we take to the streets! Partnering with our local mobile home park, neighbors of church members, and ACTION, we gather information on some needs in our community and mobilize our church to meet those needs. From painting local schools to yard work and plumbing, Serve Day gives us a chance to extend the compassion we've received to others in need. We love it!
If you are in need of some work done at your house or know a neighbor that does, contact our church office and we'll get your project on the list for our next Serve Day!

JAIL MINISTRY | Ventura County
Our Jail Ministry reaches out to people who are being held in the Ventura County Jail to share the good news about Jesus Christ.
Volunteers meet at the church by 7:30 am, and drive together. At 8:30 am, we are ushered into the jail to meet with inmates.
We don't have a set sermon, so each volunteer brings a Bible and perhaps a Bible verse or story to share. The prisoners sign up to attend, so when we arrive they are ready and eager to talk with us. We read the Bible, pray, give our testimonies and listen to their life stories.
At 10 am, we leave the facility and head home. Usually, we are back at church in time for second service at 10:45 am. Without exception, our volunteers say they feel blessed to be able to visit with the inmates and offer God's hope, compassion and love to them.
If you would like more information about the Jail Ministry, contact our church office.
