WHY YOUR GIFT MATTERS

Niños dé Baja provides a home for children in El Porvenir, Baja California, Mexico. The children of Niños are orphans or have been abandoned or removed from their homes because of severe abuse.

The small town of El Porvenir is between Ensenada and Tecate, and the people who live there are mostly poor farm workers. Christmas gifts are luxuries most can't afford.

But every year vans and trailers loaded with Christmas shoeboxes will leave Newbury Park First Christian Church and head down to Mexico. It is our goal that every child in El Porvenir would receive a Christmas shoebox. For many, this will be the only Christmas present they receive.

Your generosity will help bring the love of Christ to a child in need this Christmas!

WAYS TO GIVE

Thank you for your help. We couldn't do this without you. Here are all the ways you can extend compassion to these children this year:

  1. Complete an Entire Bag for a child with individual items, either through Amazon or a family trip to any store. Bags can be found on the patio after church on Sundays.
  2. Purchase Amazon Wishlist Items that can then be added with others to complete a bag. Many items on Amazon come in multiples, so this is a great way to contribute. *Please send all items directly to Cindy Kirschenmann for distribution (624 Martha Dr. Newbury Park, CA 91320).
  3. Make a Cash Donation at the Niños table and items will be purchased for you.
  4. Travel to Mexico and personally deliver the gifts. Contact Cindy Kirschenmann.

Every purchased item helps, no gift is too small.

** Please note size when ordering, since multiple sizes, styles and colors are available.

** In addition please look at the LIST of the age closest to the age you are shopping for, you may find other suggestions that will also fit.

MAKE A BAG

As of last year, we've transitioned to bags instead of boxes. Rest assured, your gifts will be treasured by children across the border just the same!

1. THE BAG

Bags are available Sundays at Newbury Park First Christian Church on the patio after service at 10am. The bag you choose will give you information about the age and gender of the child in need.

2. INCLUDE A "WOW" TOY

Select a quality "wow" toy such as a doll or soccer ball with a pump. Make sure it's age appropriate for your child. Don't include a stuffed animal since stuffed animal donations are collected separately and given to each child in addition to their box at the event.

3. FILL WITH GIFTS

Add other fun toys, toothbrush, toothpaste and school supplies to fill the bag completely. (Keep scrolling down to view curated Amazon wishlists for each age group)

4. PRAY & PERSONALIZE

Most importantly, pray for the child and the child's family who will receive your gift. Include a personal note and photo.

5. INCLUDE A $5 DONATION

Place $5 cash in an envelope inside your bag. This helps cover the cost of importing the bags into Mexico.

6. DROP OFF

Drop off your box at NPFCC by November 26.
